Special Course on Endovascular Techniques – Carotid Artery

Objectives:
| Knowledge of: | |
| - | X-ray anatomy of the aortic arch and the extra- and intracranial vessels supplying the brain in CT and MRI catheter angiography |
| - | Adjustment of the C-arm (ap, 30 degrees LAO for aortic arch, craniocaudal tilt and lateral angulation for imaging the carotid bifurcation) |
| - | Identification of suitable anatomies, indications and contraindications, and possible complications of different stent types Protection systems (filters, proximal or distal occlusion, no flow antegrade or retrograde flow) |
| - | Pharmacological concomitant and emergency therapy |
| Technical implementation assisted by simulator and/or model of: | |
| - | Endovascular procedures in the supra-aortic vessel segment (PTA, stent, coiling, excluding intracranial procedures) |
| Video demonstration and case discussion of: | |
| - | Endovascular procedures in the supra-aortic vascular segment (PTA, stenting, coiling) |
