Endovascular Assistance (EVA)

This one-year, part-time continuing education programme is aimed at surgical technicians (OTA), surgical nurses, medical radiology technicians (MTRA), nurses, medical assistants and vascular assistants, provided they have proven surgical experience.

The training content includes the physiology and pathophysiology of the vascular system, diseases of the arteries and veins, vascular surgical procedures, hygiene and wound treatment in the operating theatre, preparation and follow-up care of patients in the operating theatre, intraoperative patient care and monitoring, knowledge of materials, radiation protection and contrast agent safety, and documentation, including image processing of the procedures. The training programme has a modular structure. It takes place internally at the clinic where the trainee works full-time as an employee (training clinic) and is supplemented by courses and work shadowing at institutions authorised for this purpose by the Private Academy of the German Society for Angiology (DGG). A total of more than 65 endovascular assistants have already successfully completed the training programme.

Course III: Materials Science from 19 to 21 October 2026 in Regensburg
Course IV: Documentation and Quality Assurance on 20 March 2027 in Osnabrück
Course V: Radiation protection – external (institution of your choice)

The final examination (for the 2025–2026 training period) will take place on Saturday, 26 September 2026, from 10.00 am to 11.30 am at Kap Europa – Messe Frankfurt am Main, Solar Room, Osloer Str. 5, 60327 Frankfurt am Main.
